<p>Food &amp; Hotel Thailand 2009, held at the Royal Paragon Halls in the heart of Bangkok, has been awarded host status of the 1st Asian Culinary Cup supported by WACS and attracting an expected audience of up  to 5,000 local and international chefs. This global culinary event is held in addition to the comprehensive activity programme that includes the Thai Association annual conference, Hostec Asia, Thai Restaurant Congress, the Thai Retailers Summit and the Food &amp; Beverage Association of Thailand’s International Wine Challenge.</p>
<p>Food &amp; Hotel Thailand 2009 will welcome an expanded number of International participants with many new groups and international participants with many new groups and independent exhibitors joining the event for the first time and it is expected to attract another record number of local &amp; international buyers. As part of the Allworld Apple series of food &amp; hotel events Food &amp; Hotel Thailand holds the unique status of being “Asia’s 5 Star Hospitality Event.”<br />

<p>Mrs Supawan Teerarat, Acting President of Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), a co-supporter of the event, said: “following the extraordinary success of last year’s event with attracted almost 22,600 visitors from 61 countries, the Food &amp; Hotel Thailand 2009 is now being remarked as the one of the vital international trade fairs in Thailand and holds the unique status of being “Asia’s 5 stars Hospitality Event”. TCEB is therefore extending a series of support; marketing updates, partnering opportunities and a wide range of attractive scheme, to this show.”</p>
<p>David Aitken, Managing Director, Bangkok Exhibition Services Ltd, said: “FHT 2009 will gather an estimated 750 brands from all over the world, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK, US and Thailand.”</p>
<p>“With an expansion into 12,000 sqm of exhibiting space, the 17th edition of FHT will feature comprehensive range of products and services, from food &amp; beverage, bakeries, confectioneries, seasonings, and a wide selection of wine, to glassware and ceramics, kitchenware, retail and hotel appliances, and software.”</p>
<p>Registered exhibiting companies, for instance, include Nestle, Lucky Flame, S &amp; P Syndicate, Royal Porcelain, Bon Café’ Coffee, Ebisu Seafoods, BVZ Fabrics, American European, Aroma Group, HIS Softbrand and national pavilion from Japan, USA, South Africa and Korea.</p>
<p>To enhance the entire experience, FHT 2009 encompasses many specialised events such as the 1st Asian Culinary Cup by the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), with an assembly of more than 550 award-winning chefs from around the world; the Wedding Flower Decoration Festival by the Executive Housekeeper Association of Thailand; and the International Wine Challenge by the Food and Beverage Association of Thailand.</p>
<p>To improve the industry standard for each sector according to the government initiative to promote “Thai Kitchen to World,” associations will also host insightful conferences and showcase activities such as a seminar on Thai Kitchen Standards by the Thai Restaurant Association; and the Bartending Competition by the Thai Hotel Association.</p>
<p>This year’s event is expected to attract more than 25,000 visitors from over 50 countries.</p>
